Faerie

05-38 59-02Faerie was the lands of the Elves in Aman as known in Westron in the folklore of the Hobbits. It is likely referred to what they know of the blessed land of the elves in the West, Eldamar, and translated also as Elvenhome, Elvenesse, or Elvenland. The poem “Errantry”, supposed to have been written by Bilbo Baggins and that we find in the book “The Adventures of Tom Bombadil”, mentions the lands of Aerie and Faerie, and elven paladins challenged the mariner character of the song (and it is also supposed to be a precursor to the poem about Earendil also by Bilbo)
21-73The idea of Faerie derives a notion explored by Tolkien in his lecture and essay “On Fairy-Stories”, where it represents a realm on the edge of human experience in which fantastical creatures dwell.
The name ‘Faerie’ belongs to an early period of Tolkien’s writings (Book of Lost Tales), and is never seen in The Lord of the Rings, but it does survive in a single usage in The Hobbit where this idea takes on a more concrete form, and there it relates specifically to the realms occupied by the Elves beyond the Great Sea, which is in fact Valinor
02-14The idea of Faerie is associated with the more magical side of the elves, in a time where Tolkien’s works magic was much more evident and tied to the folklore of the fairies. I wanted to make an outfit that reflects the magical side of the fair folk. Thankfully, Loremaster is pretty heavy on sparkles and light effects XD the hunter Dar Narbugud armour fits the theme well in my opinion, here is the hunter set, with the champion shoulders, that continue the winged theme of the cloak. And a Legendary level 60 staff, thankfully we can hide the horrible glow, and now Legendaries can be used as perfectly good cosmetic weapons. I could have left the glow on this one… but I loathe it that much lol 33-30
