Midnight Sky

“O stars that in the Sunless Year
With shining hand by her were sown,
In Windy fields now bright and clear
We see your silver blossom blown!”

– Hymn to Elbereth

403927585149 It is well known that the Eles love Above all the light of the Stars, and when the Sun and Moon first were sent to their course in the sky, they revered Moon the most. Both the Stars and the Moon are represented in the garb of this warden, on her hauberk and shield, gold studs against midnight blue background, and on her cloak a crescent moon. Perhaps she is waiting to see it rise from behind the mountains, perhaps she is admiring the light of Menelmacar, the Swordsman of the Sky524002192349I really like this shield, and it’s golden counterpart. These are part of the cosmetic rewards that came out with U20. The shields in particular can be obtained with friend status with the Master-armourer faction. Now… while I am glad the cosmetics specifically are at friend status, this new set of dailies and grind I do not like. Not only people who want to barter from different factions have to go through the rigmarole of maxing them all, but if you have only one character who is a crafter, it will take you a heck of a long time. Also, the barter items share the same items needed for advancing reputation, so you have to choose one or the other. The shield here costed 40 teal and 10 gold tokens for the Armourer faction. That is a lot. I am also starting to get burned out by dailies, in fact I do them when the whim strikes me. The horse reward for maxing out all rep factions might be a good enough motivation to do dailies (I liked the Steed of the Moth a lot and got it for most of my characters) I’d like to see a picture of it. That said, I do love this shield, and I may do another outfit for it’s golden counterpart 🙂

  1. Oh my god…that shield is gorgeous and a perfect fit for the hauberk! I haven’t gotten through North Ithilien yet and I’ve been curious to see what the vendors have for U20.

  2. That is a nice outfit indeed 🙂 Great use of that cloak, I’ve wanted to use it for years but never come up with anything 😛 And I agree on the grinding in the new update, I’m not even going to start it. My lvl caps have good enough gear for questing, and I’m gonna keep it until we get a new lvl cap 🙂
