Vána the Everyoung
Vána of the Valier (Valar queens), is the younger sister of Yavanna Kementari and the spouse of Oromë. Among the seven Valier, Vána was the sixth named by Tolkien
Like her sister, Vána had influenced the bloom of flora and certain creatures in Middle-earth, “all flowers spring as she passes and open if she glances upon them; and all birds sing at her coming.” She had “the beauty of both heaven and earth upon her face and in all her works” (cit. The Silmarillion, “Valaquenta“: Of the Valar).
Vána dwelt in gardens filled with golden flowers and could often be found wandering in the forests of Oromë. During the Years of the Trees before becoming the Sun maiden, the Maia Arien, “tended to the golden flowers of the gardens of Vána by watering them with the bright dews from Laurelin” (cit. Quenta Silmarillion: “Of the Sun and Moon and the Hiding of Valinor”). Vána is Quenya for “beautiful”, specifically unmarred beauty. She was also called the Everyoung
A year ago I made an outfit for Yavanna Kementari, using the brand new dress model from the brand new Midsummer festival, in the tones of green and dark purple. I think it is fitting that to depict her younger sister I use the cosmetics from the second edition of Midsummer festival, in lighter tone this time, Lorien gold and violet. Same thing for the background, instead of the bright green of Eryn Lasgalen I took my pictures in Fangorn, specifically inside a quest instance in the Eaves of Fangorn where the lighting makes for a dreamy atmosphere
head: Circlet of fresh flowers, violet dye, Farmer’s faire festival reward
shoulders: Light Nadhin shoulders, lorien gold dye, barter in Dol Amroth
chest: Dress of Entwining blossoms, lorien gold dye, midsummer festival reward
back: Cloak of Entwining bossoms, lorien gold dye, midsummer festival reward

The Fangorn atmosphere softens and blends the colours. I love the composition and the dress has become one of my favorites for elves!
lorien gold is such a finicky colour to work with, sometimes not enough yellow other times too greenish but fortunately the landscape gave the outfit the right tone that I wanted XD
